The Role

Tasks

-Conducts various internal safety and compliance-based assessments to audit conditions and safe work practices at jobsites. -Maintain detailed records of dive operations, including safety procedures, equipment inspections, and incident reports. -Communicate with project managers, dive teams, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of safety protocols. -Attend, represent and participate in industry and client related safety meetings. -Working with the Company’s Safety Training Team, coordinate and provide training for dive personnel, including divers, support staff, and supervisors. -Participates in job site kickoffs, visits, and audits in accordance with company and client standards. -Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to diving, construction and maritime safety. -Stay abreast of industry regulations and standards related to diving, construction and maritime safety. -Develop and implement emergency response plans for diving incidents. -Participate in meetings as applicable. -Ensure that all DCBU activities comply with local, national, and international (where applicable) regulations. -Travel to project sites and regional offices. -Analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement. -Provide support in the inspection and maintenance of diving equipment to ensure it meets safety standards. -Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and near misses. -Collaborate with other safety professionals to integrate diving, construction and maritime safety into overall safety programs. -Working with the Company’s Safety Training and Qualifications Teams, assist in ensuring that all personnel involved in diving activities hold the necessary certifications and qualifications. -Identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks. -Implement corrective actions to prevent the recurrence of incidents. -Assists in developing and implementing dive, construction and maritime safety programs and policies. -Conduct thorough risk assessments for DCBU operations. -Regularly review and update dive safety procedures based on lessons learned and changes in industry standards. -Working with applicable stakeholders, establish and enforce medical fitness standards for divers. -Conduct drills and exercises to ensure that all team members are well-prepared to respond to emergencies.

What You Bring

-3-5 years of dive or marine safety experience required; 5-8 years of dive or marine safety experience required if no degree. -Ability to collaborate cross-functionally. -CSP, ASP, CHST or OHST or similar designation preferred. -Ability to respond to afterhours emergencies. -Strong written and verbal communication skills, specifically in the English language. -Ability to proactively identify issues and offer solutions. -Understanding of Worker’s Compensation, USL&H and Jones Act Claims. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, and other basic office applications. -Valid driver’s license. -Working knowledge of dive industry requirements for equipment. -Communicate and work with various third parties, including commercial insurance brokers and providers. -Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred. -Understanding of and experience with ADCI, USCG, OSHA, NFPA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations. -Working knowledge of Root Cause Analysis. -Ability to work with a team and independently.
