Tasks

-Ensure all metering associated with major revenue accounts and ISO inner tie metering are monitored and working properly. -Administer and Monitor the State mandated periodic and selective test program. This includes the generation of tests for all meter types, monitoring the program progress and supervising the accuracy and completeness of the program. -Support the Metering Supervisor in training and leading the activities of the Meter Test Lab and Meter Services. -Coordinate this effort with meter reading, RMS personnel and account management. -Prepare and maintain engineering records and documentation as required. This would include metering one line design drawings and modified station prints. -Create and update metering standards and guidelines including meter installation standards, The UI Guidebook of Requirements for Electrical Service and any additional metering information requested or required. -Review the engineering work of drafters, designers, subordinate engineers and consultants. -Maintain a working knowledge of current Electrical Code, ANSI and State metering standards. -Guide or mentor others. -Manage small projects/processes or teams (Plan, schedule, monitor and control budget, coordinate various detailed phases of engineering work for assigned portions of a major project/program). -Coordinate, plan and schedule the installation, replacement or upgrade of complex metering at our customer locations and stations.

What You Bring

-Able to read, interpret and create electrical drawings. -Able to work in a cross-functional team and guide or mentor other team members. -Requires a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from an ABET accredited college/university plus 5 years’ experience performing engineering duties or an A.S. engineering degree from an ABET accredited university plus 9 years’ experience in a specific Electric System engineering discipline ( e.g. Distribution, Transmission, etc.) . UI Basic Engineering Training Curriculum ( e.g. ECNE - PUI) or equivalent. -Possess in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in metering engineering discipline along with related business practices and procedures. -Customer Centric (internal and/or external) -Able to explain difficult issues and work to establish consensus. -Five years of experience in metering applications is preferred.
