The Role

Overview

Manage payroll, benefits, and accounting tasks, ensuring compliance and supporting the Controller.

Tasks

-Support Controller in various contract administration and closeout tasks -Assist with monthly general journal entries and reconciliations -Maintain confidential personnel files and benefit documentation -Process and review invoices (payroll and AP) -Maintain accurate and timely records for payroll/benefits -Perform general administrative duties including but not limited to paperless filing, scheduling, and communication with vendors and internal staff -Assist with month-end and year-end closings and audit preparation -Act as a liaison between S&W Accounting and Corporate Payroll/Benefit departments for data integrity -Handle payroll processing and employee benefit program administration -Process certified payroll - TN State related jobs -Support onboarding and offboarding processes -Help coordinate HR-related compliance and reporting (e.g., I-9s, ACA, EEOC) -Ensure compliance with federal and state payroll regulations and deadlines -Maintains confidentiality

What You Bring

-Experience with construction industry accounting and payroll -Minimum 3-5 years' experience in payroll, accounting, and/or HR roles -Knowledge of Accounting & HR best practices -Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word -Familiarity with Foundation Construction Software, Trimble Spectrum or similar platforms -High attention to detail with strong organizational and communication skills -Familiar with employment law -Associate’s degree in Accounting, Human Resources, or related field (Bachelor's preferred) -Ability to work both collaboratively and independently with minimal Supervision
