Principal Civil Design Engineer

Overview

Lead civil design from concept to detail and construction support for water/wastewater projects.

Tasks

-Ensure co-ordination of designs with all other disciplines internal and external to CMDP for the benefit of the project as a whole -Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts and ensure BIM compliance -Provide design information to support proposals and estimating -Reduce waste to a minimum from all departmental activities -Produce civil designs which are cost effective, sustainable, meet the requirements of the solution and which can be constructed and commissioned effectively -Assist in supervising and developing staff -Maintain a personal development plan -Assist in ensuring a safe working environment for all staff -Ensure designs take account of environmental issues -Ensure compliance with CDM

What You Bring

-Developed influencing & negotiation skills -Full UK driving licence -Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work in a dynamic working environment -Experience with BIM and digital delivery practices -Educated to Degree Level & preferably Chartered -Experience of Off-Site Manufacture practices -Team player with excellent interpersonal skills -Water sector experience with an understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes -Proven track record of delivering on time and to budget -Line / team management experience in a Design and Build environment -Previous experience working in Joint Ventures -A positive, results focused, flexible can-do approach with the ability to influence and motivate others -Must be willing and able to travel to sites within region and occasionally to other office locations in UK -Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety -IT skills including MS Office, advanced Excel, Teams, SharePoint, (ProjectWise - desirable although not essential)
