The Role

Overview

Lubricates and performs preventive maintenance on heavy equipment and tools.

Tasks

-Lubricates moving parts of heavy equipment throughout the facility. -Changes oil in machine reservoirs; cleans and replaces oil filters. -Identifies machines and equipment requiring repair or maintenance through provided work orders and specifications. -Complies with applicable federal, state, and company laws, regulations, and guidelines regarding health, safety, and environmental protection. -Identifies when and what type of preventive maintenance is required for heavy equipment; performs the maintenance, reporting any need for additional maintenance or repairs to supervisor. -Fills automatic dispensers, oil cans, and oil cups. -Removes superfluous oil and grease from machinery, tools, and floor. -Ensures that automatic lubrication equipment operates correctly, replacing empty drums or malfunctioning lines. -Completes logs, reports, or other documentation related to the installation, replacement, modification, or changing of machine parts and attachments.

What You Bring

-Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time. -Ability to give and receive oral safety warnings, instructions, and task assignments. -Ability to use hand and power tools. -Prolonged periods standing, crouching, bending, climbing, stooping, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling in order to perform job. -Ability to work closely with mechanics. -Valid driver’s license -Knowledge of and experience in lubrication procedures for all types of heavy and light equipment common to heavy construction and oilfield service industries. -Thorough understanding of machines and tools being used. -Ability and willingness to wear safety shoes, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, and additional personal protective equipment. -Ability to maintain preventative maintenance records. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. -2+ years’ experience in the Heavy Equipment Maintenance industry or an educational degree in Diesel-related technical courses is preferred. -Ability to read and understand job descriptions, safety/technical manuals, and safety/warning signs. -Knowledge of heavy equipment and non-mobile/or light duty vehicles preventative maintenance. -High school diploma or equivalent
