Tasks

-Maintaining a clean and safe work environment -Fire Alarm Apprentices are responsible for assisting foreman and fitters in the installation of fire protection systems -Clean-up tools -Distribute the material and accessories from the truck to the designated material lay down area -While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently be required lift loads up to 75-pounds and occasionally lift or assist with lifting loads/weight in excess of 75-pounds; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Frequent use of ladders or scaffolds with likely use of personal fall arrest systems is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -Participation in technician's on-call rotation schedule -Maintain and organize lay down areas -Service of fire alarm systems and other components associated fire protection systems -Properly maintaining documentation of work performed -Compliance of company policies and procedures

What You Bring

-No direct fire protection experience required -Sprinkler Apprentices are also enrolled and making progress in the AFSA’s Apprenticeship Program -High School diploma or GED preferred but not required; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. -Understand Allied Fire Protection’s Safety program, SDS book, Hazardous Communication Program, policies and procedures. Helpers must know where all related safety documentation is at all times on each project. -Moving and/or carrying equipment and tools, weighing up to 75 lbs -Ability to perform assigned work in unusual and occasionally difficult positions; i.e. lift equipment, ladders, scaffolding -Excellent written and verbal skills -Decision Quality/Decisiveness -Sprinkler apprentices are expected to continually make progress in their fire protection education with tools provided by Allied Fire Protection
