The Role

Overview

Produce microbial products via large-scale fermentation, handling prep, testing, and documentation.

Tasks

-Utilize the SAP system. -Conduct sterilization, inoculation, and product recovery as needed. -Utilize large-scale fermenting instrumentation and equipment. -Follow specific work instructions and batch records to scale up microbes. -Perform simple testing on in-process and finished product samples using instruments such as GC/HPLC, Karl-Fisher, optical density, pH, and microscope for counts/possible contamination. -Apply aseptic technique on a daily basis. -Perform media and microbial solution preparation. -Maintain production, analytical, and quality documentation. -Track total product from start to finish, including recovery, total yield, and quantities per each processing step. -Operate the CIP system for sanitation and processing.

What You Bring

-Familiarity with chemicals, SOP, and CIP systems. -Proficiency in basic lab testing on microbial solutions. -Ability to operate fermentation equipment and understand the fermentation process. -Degree or exp in Biology, Microbiology, or Fermentation is advantageous. -Experience in food, manufacturing, fermentation, or as a chemical operator. -Experience or understanding of aseptic techniques.
