The Role

Overview

Supervises electrical construction crews, plans, ensures compliance, safety, and project execution.

Tasks

-Provide input for monthly progress updates, job cost updates and -Assist project management with contract administration (subcontractor/field management meeting for communication) -Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies. -Assist project management in the review, approval and negotiation of change orders -Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required. -Ensure that all performance evaluations and completed in a timely fashion for direct reports -Review and approve labor rates for Foremen, journeymen, and laborers to ensure fair compensation and cost control as well as adherence to the established budget -Review and approve or reject promotions up to General Foremen. -Maintain good relations with both our client and staff on site -Assist in the development and implementation of project completion and turnover -Maintain detailed daily records to facilitate accurate documentation and reporting. -Initiate and attend meetings with the client, engineer, and key project staff for problem resolution and planning -Mentor and support the development of junior superintendents, general foremen, foremen, and field engineers

What You Bring

-Must be familiar with OSHA and industry safety rules and regulations -Regular, reliable attendance -Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment. -Excellent organizational, administrative, communication and interpersonal skills. -Must be a self-starter, highly motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision. -8+ years' construction experience with 3+ years being in a Superintendent/Leadership capacity. -Ability to identify and resolve any problems that may arise. -Strong experience in leadership, safety, negotiations, planning, and contract administration. -Must be familiar with NED, IEEE and NFPA standards for installation and safety. -Ability to quickly learn and understand various processes regarding Kiewit’s policies, procedures and software programs. -A degree in electrical engineering or electrical technology from an accredited institution may substitute for hands on experience with appropriate industry supervisory experience. -Work productively and meet deadlines timely -Hands on electrical installation experience as a journeyman electrician on power generation or industrial installation. Current or previous state licensed Journeyman preferred but not required.
