The Role

Assist surveyors in field measurements, equipment setup, and site layout tasks.

Tasks

-May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access -Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required -Measure distances manually with survey chains using a plumb bob and maintain survey chains to insure accuracy and consistency -Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required -Inspects work to ensure that survey work is conducted in conformance with applicable standards. -Perform manual labor related to surveying needs, such as cutting brush for lines, carrying stakes, and/or pins and right of way markers delineate features of all phase’s construction project. -Accurately set up items associated with electronic measuring and sighting and perform these actions as needed -Install or mark neatly elevations as instructed by the Surveying Journeyman -Operates and maintains survey tools and instruments -Participate in planning, diagramming and layout for surveyor work -Assist in the task of establishing elevations and or grades as required

What You Bring

-Must possess working knowledge skills and abilities for position. -The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, -May require US drivers license -Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing, fit for duty medical and background check -Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision. -Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment -Ability to use hand tools, power tools and layout tools safe and efficiently. -May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across -Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
