Determines what permits are necessary and ensures that they are obtained.
Plans and coordinates all aspects of the construction process, including hiring contractors and working with engineers, architects and vendors
Responsible for selecting subcontractors and negotiating the terms of their contracts
Prepares project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications
Communicates directly with contractors/designers concerning project cost, staffing, and scheduling
Prepares reports that include cost overruns, workplace injuries, issues with trade unions and the causes of construction delays
Negotiates with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best price and delivery schedule
Reviews the budget for the project and prepares a detailed plan to allocate the funds by stage or by labor, materials and contingencies

Strong organization & time management skills
Knowledge of general workflow and processes for the construction buildings projects
Effective negotiation and mediation skills
Ability to recognize and address appropriate issues/tasks/responsibilities/requests
Understanding of the construction business and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Minimum of Two (2) to Three (3) years related experience
Proven track record of timely delivery of construction projects within budget
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or other related field from an accredited university or college
