Tasks

You’ll work closely with Project Managers, Design Managers, and external consultants, leading subcontractor procurement, managing project costs, and ensuring value for money across all stages of development. The role will give you exposure to a variety of schemes, from airspace developments to new-build projects while contributing directly to Apex’s continued growth. -Prepare, negotiate, and agree interim valuations, variations, and final accounts with clients and subcontractors. -Ensure contractual compliance under JCT Design & Build and other relevant forms of contract. -Lead the procurement and management of subcontractor packages, from preparing tender documentation and conducting tender analyses to negotiation and contract execution. -Attend and contribute to project, commercial, and design meetings, providing accurate and timely commercial input. -Maintain and update procurement schedules, change control registers, and cost tracking tools. -Collaborate with design and delivery teams to review drawings, specifications, and tender information, ensuring value-engineered solutions. -Mentor and support wider team, promoting a culture of professional growth and development. -Work on diverse projects, from airspace and rooftop developments to full-scale new builds. -Manage and monitor project budgets, preparing cashflows, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and regular cost reports. -Support the management of risk, value engineering, and cost forecasting exercises throughout the project lifecycle.

What You Bring

We are seeking an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor to join our growing commercial team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the financial and contractual aspects of multiple projects, from post-tender through to completion and final account. -Proven experience managing multiple subcontractor packages and commercial reporting. -Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (RICS-accredited preferred) and ideally working towards MRICS status. -Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with cost management software (e.g., COINS, Candy, or similar) is an advantage. -Willingness to travel to sites across London as required. -Confident communicator and proactive team player with strong commercial awareness. -Excellent numerical, analytical, and negotiation skills with strong attention to detail. -Strong knowledge of UK construction contracts (JCT preferred), cost management, and procurement. -Valid CSCS card preferred. -Minimum 3 years’ experience with a main contractor or developer, ideally in Design & Build or residential projects.
