The Role

Overview

Conduct flood risk modelling and hydraulic analysis for infrastructure projects.

Tasks

-Mentor junior team members and review their modelling work -Develop and calibrate models using data from field surveys, GIS, and remote sensing. -Support proposal development and client presentations. -Perform flood risk assessments (FRA), flood mapping, and scenario analysis. -Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and regulatory bodies. -Conduct hydrological and hydraulic modelling using 1D and 2D software platforms (e.g., TUFLOW, Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, MIKE). -Collaborate with engineers, planners, and environmental specialists on integrated water management projects. -Engage with our vibrant community through the Young Employees Forum, Diversity and Inclusion Forum, and BH Women's Network, fostering a supportive and diverse workplace culture

What You Bring

-Ability to manage projects and interact with clients. -Experience with coastal/tidal modelling and stormwater drainage systems. -Experience with GIS tools: ArcGIS, QGIS, MapInfo. -Knowledge of sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) and water-sensitive urban design. -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Familiarity with UK/ME hydrological standards (e.g., FEH) is a plus. -Proficiency in modelling software: TUFLOW, Flood Modeller, HEC-RAS, MIKE, InfoWorks ICM. -Strong understanding of hydrology, hydraulics, and flood modelling principles. -M.Tech / M.E. in Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field. -Ideally be in the range of 3-6 years’ experience in project delivery and management. -Experience in QA/QC of modelling outputs.
