Manage contracts for renewable energy projects, handling RFPs, negotiations, and compliance.
-Manage the end-to-end process of Request for Proposal (RFP) development, evaluation, and selection for renewable energy projects. -Effectively communicate with senior executives both internally and externally. -Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient contract management strategies. -Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to renewable energy projects. -Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including development, project management, engineering, interconnection, capital markets and power marketing teams, to identify and address contractual risks and opportunities. -Coordinate with the project management, consultants, and legal advisors to ensure compliance with project specifications, regulatory requirements, and local laws. -Provide regular updates on the status of contracts to the project teams and management. -Negotiate and draft construction contracts that adhere to project requirements, legal guidelines, and industry standards. -Interpret existing contracts and provide guidance to the project management and operations teams on contractual and interpretation issues. -Conduct thorough analysis and review of contractual terms, including insurance, warranties, indemnities, and performance guarantees. -Maintain well-documented files to accurately track contract templates, approvals, executed contracts, and pending contracts.
The position could require up to 20% domestic travel. As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Sr. Contracts Manager will play a crucial role in developing, drafting, negotiating, and executing contracts for our renewable energy projects. The Sr. Contracts Manager will be able to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. They should possess excellent organizational skills, be capable of managing multiple contracts simultaneously, demonstrate excellent follow-through skills, and have the ability to meet strict deadlines. -Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards. -In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, contract negotiation, and project management principles. -Demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making skills, even in ambiguous situations. -Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or JD is a plus. -Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. -Proven experience (preferably 5+ years) as a Construction Contracts Manager, with specific expertise in renewable energy sectors. -Datacenter experience a plus. -Familiarity with renewable energy technologies, including Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), and/or wind. -Proficient in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite. -Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. -Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess contractual risks and propose effective mitigation strategies. -10+ years of professional working experience.
Base Pay - $150,000 - $170,000 The pay range mentioned above is a guideline.
