Overview

Lead planning, design, and delivery of roadway projects while managing teams and client relations.

Tasks

-Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. -Develop business by a marketing company to existing clients and as well identifying and marketing to new clients. -Meeting with cities, counties and local agencies for business development purposes. -Manage and maintain project schedules and financial requirements -Responsible for design calculations, plan preparation, and direction of schematic designs for TDOT and local government projects -Building relationships and growing business in the transportation sector.

What You Bring

-Proven experience in handling project management responsibilities including multiple deadlines -Licensed as a Professional Engineer (TN preferred) -Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs -Uses advanced techniques, theory, precepts and practices in a specialized engineering field and related sciences and disciplines. -Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required -Experience with MicroStation ORD projects -20+ years of experience with Microstation, Geopak (or Open Roads) and TDOT procedures a must -Ability to lead, mentor, and manage a group of design professionals -Director will interact with Client and other consultants and must have good communication skills. -Previous work experience in an AEC related firm -TDOT Project Delivery Network experience -Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees -Ability to build strong relationships -TDOT Local Government Guidelines/Local Programs Certification
