Overview

Regulate train movements and ensure safe, reliable metro operations from the OCC.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Coordinating safe shunting, test track operations and transfers. -Accurately recording operational events in the OCC logbook. -Delivering timely customer information, including announcements and Help Point responses. -Responding to alarms and line faults, supporting incident management and recovery. -Injecting standby trains into service as required. -Monitoring and regulating train services in normal, degraded and emergency modes. -Monitoring train condition and arranging exchanges if Minimum Operating Standards are not met. -Managing train movements on the mainline and within the Stabling and Maintenance Facility (SMF).

-Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team. -Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. -Minimum 5 years’ experience in rail or other transport operations. -Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-focused mindset. -At least 3 years of control room experience within a transport system or equivalent. -Attention to detail and a solutions-focused approach, particularly in degraded situations. -Certificate IV or Diploma in Rail Operations, Incident Management, or equivalent qualifications/experience.
