Tasks

-Prepare bid proposals, including detailed scope of work, cost estimates, and project timelines. -Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for mechanical equipment installation projects. -Conduct take-offs and prepare detailed material, labor, and equipment cost breakdowns. -Develop options and recommend best value solutions based on cost, engineering, quality, or availability of materials -Source and evaluate supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements. -Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and competitive estimates. -Stay current with industry trends, materials pricing, and construction techniques to ensure accurate and up-to-date estimates. -Develop complete conceptual proposals to support business development and client maintenance -Assist in the development and improvement of estimating tools, processes, and best practices.

Graycor is currently looking for a Sr. Mechanical / Equipment Setting / Millwright Estimator to develop conceptual and hard bids for our manufacturing, industrial, and energy transition markets. We are looking for a proven professional with a strong track record in creating competitive bids and budgets, with a comprehensive knowledge of the latest industry standards and practices. -Bachelor’s degree preferred with 7 - 10 years of work experience in the estimating of mechanical equipment installation in a union and / or merit-based environment. Experience in estimating piping is a plus. -Must be able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities -Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. -Strong understanding of steel erection processes, industry standards, and best practices. -Ability to read and interpret installation manuals, specifications, and technical drawings. -Must have a strong understanding of conceptual estimating and lump sum estimating techniques -Must be proficient in estimating software (WinEst) and Microsoft Office Suite -Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
