The Role

Overview

Lead field technician for PLC control system installation, startup, and maintenance

Tasks

-Assist in the execution of FAT/HFAT testing and related documentation -Communicate proactively with project leads and customers -Coordinate and guide junior field staff or subcontractors as needed and set an example for safety on job sites -Drive Customer Success – Take ownership and exceed expectations -Perform loop checks, calibrations, and field wiring for instrumentation and control panels -Interpret and work from P&IDs, equipment schedules, and wiring diagrams -Perform routine system maintenance and generate service reports -Drive Financial Strength – Deliver efficiently and continuously improve -Support installation, startup, and commissioning of PLC-based control systems -Troubleshoot controls, electrical systems, HVAC equipment interfaces, and automation issues

What You Bring

-Nice to Have: Exposure to Ignition, Wonderware, FactoryTalk, or similar HMI/SCADA platforms -Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Industrial Automation, HVAC/Electrical Technology, or equivalent experience -Experience: 2–5+ years in controls, industrial electrical, or instrumentation environments -Fit for duty at all times -Strong understanding of electrical/HVAC fundamentals and field installation practices -Ability to read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematics -Self-starter who communicates well and works effectively with minimal supervision -Hands-on experience with PLC hardware, panel wiring, and I/O troubleshooting -Must be willing to travel (~75% depending on project needs) -Valid driver’s license and proof of work authorization required
