The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Provide regular progress reports to management on maintenance performance and project status. -Lead electrical work on capital projects, including reading schematics, reviewing plans, and coordinating with engineers, contractors, and other trades. -Supervise, train, and coordinate work for electricians and apprentices performing maintenance, repair, and installation of industrial electrical systems. -Support commissioning and startup activities for new or modified equipment. -Assist with procurement of materials and tools needed for maintenance and project work. -Coordinate with other departments to minimize production disruptions during maintenance or project work. -Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair equipment such as motors, drives, control panels, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, PLCs, and instrumentation. -Identify and recommend opportunities for system upgrades, energy efficiency improvements, and cost reductions. -Plan, schedule, and execute electrical maintenance activities to ensure equipment and facility uptime. -Conduct job safety analyses (JSAs) and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures. -Maintain and update electrical documentation, including wiring diagrams, panel schedules, and asset records. -Oversee and ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA, and site-specific safety standards.

What You Bring

-Demonstrated knowledge of industrial electrical systems up to 480V (or higher as required). -Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license strongly preferred. -Experience with VFDs, PLCs, HMIs, and industrial control systems. -Must be able to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed to support production or project deadlines. -Proven track record of successfully managing capital projects and coordinating contractors. -Industrial manufacturing or processing plant environment with exposure to noise, heat, heights, and confined spaces. -Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing ladders, lifting up to 50 lbs., and working at heights. -Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. -Minimum of 5-7 years of industrial electrical experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role. -Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and P&IDs. -High school diploma or GED required; technical school diploma or associate degree in Electrical Technology preferred. -Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for work orders and asset tracking.
