Tasks

-Conduct field reviews to develop project scope, meet with project stakeholders, and verify field conditions. -Performing electrical design calculations, including cable and raceway sizing, equipment sizing, power system studies, lighting design, and heat dissipation. -Developing project deliverables including single line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, cable routing, cable schedules, junction box layouts, bills of materials, hazardous area classifications, lighting and grounding layouts, control panel layouts, datasheets, instrument layouts, and design details. -Create and develop client relationships and assist client account managers, project managers, and senior engineers with business development duties as required. -Performing detailed reviews of electrical codes, standards, and specifications to ensure designs meet all project requirements. -Participating in project design reviews with internal team members and/or clients, vendors, sub-consultants. -Providing construction support to projects, including RFI and shop drawing review, field inspections, and commissioning support. -Assisting project managers and senior engineers in developing and managing project scope, budget, and schedule. -Leading electrical engineering and design development over the entire project lifecycle through design basis memoranda, calculations, sketches, technology selection, 3D model development, drawings, and specifications. -Developing innovative technical approaches and solutions for single- and multi-discipline projects. -Providing guidance, training, and mentorship for junior designers and engineers. -Performing quality control activities in accordance with project requirements, including detailed deliverable reviews, interdisciplinary reviews, and independent technical reviews. -Following developing technologies in electrical engineering, control, and instrumentation. -Preparing and revising documentation through all project phases and modifying technical drawings and work plans according to engineering principles and procedures.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of CAD design software tools such as AutoCAD, Navisworks, MicroStation, and Revit would be an asset. -In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering concepts, construction methods, and approaches and the ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to others. -Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills. -P.Eng. registration with APEGA. -P.E. (US) registration would be an asset. -Proficiency in MS Office Suite and PDF editing programs (Bluebeam, Adobe) used to create reports and documents. -Thorough understanding of applicable electrical and building codes (e.g. CSA, IEEE, API, NFPA). -Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills. -Minimum of 5 years of Electrical Engineering experience in oil and gas, EPCM, or related industry. -Well-developed critical thinking skills, strong analytical abilities and a continuous improvement in mindset. -Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
