Mechanical Chief Engineer

Tasks

-Coordinating, when directed, with client representatives to obtain their approval of mechanical aspects of the work. -Reviewing and making recommendations of the mechanical aspects of bid evaluations and awards for approval by project engineering. -Preparing or overseeing the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and managing implementation and performance accordingly. -Reviewing and approving key calculations, licensing evaluations, design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, and change orders, for the project to which assigned. -Ensuring that assigned mechanical personnel receive appropriate on-the-job training for their professional development. -Supervising, coordinating, and reviewing the work of mechanical engineering personnel assigned, estimating staffing needs, and scheduling and assigning work accordingly. -Maintaining contact with other disciplines to ensure the coordination of the work within the project(s) and compliance with Bechtel/client requirements. -Planning, developing, directing, and participating in the day-to-day mechanical engineering activity on medium to large sized complex projects that require very major mechanical engineering effort, or being assigned responsibility for multiple smaller projects within a global business unit utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs). -Providing the technical input to meet procurement requirements.
