Senior Engineering Technician (CMT)

Overview

Perform QA/QC testing and special inspections of construction materials for various projects.

Tasks

Successful candidates must perform on site observations/inspections to confirm compliance with the local building code and project contract documents, collect samples per ASTM & project requirements, perform specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components per ASTM, ACI, etc. standards, and maintain detail records of observations, inspections and test results. Work is generally performed unsupervised (i.e. employee is in the field as the Company’s representative) but under the direction of a Professional Engineer or Project Manager. -Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company -Performing basic laboratory tests on soil and concrete and preparing reports of results -Communicating with clients, contractors, and engineering and technician staff regarding construction issues -Evaluating site and subgrade conditions on construction projects and providing recommendations -Special Inspections of Structural Masonry, Reinforced Concrete, Light Gauge Metal Framing, and Wood Framing. -Preparing detailed and complete field reports with all relevant test results and inspections/observations provided

What You Bring

-Nuclear Density Gauge Training -Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) RTT and QCT -3+ years applicable experience with QA/QC testing of construction materials and special inspections on commercial buildings -The ability to read plans & specifications -International Code Council (ICC) certifications in one or more of the following disciplines: Soils, Structural Masonry, and Reinforced Concrete -Valid Georgia Driver's license -American Concrete Institute (ACI) Concrete Field Testing - Level 1 -Post-Tensioning Institute (PTI) Level 1 Unbonded PT Installation
