Lead planning and execution of licensing projects, coordinating resources and schedules.

Tasks

-Assist in annual budgeting estimations as required by the Licensing Director. -Develop and report on project and department metrics. -Perform administrative functions such as writing and reviewing reports, and maintaining intra- and inter-department communication mechanisms. The WPEL is often the first-line facilitator of organizing departmental handoffs to and from Licensing. -The employee frequently is required; to sit and stand; walk; bend, use hands to operate office equipment; and reach with hands and arms. -Planning/organizing: Prioritizes and plans work activities, organizes personal and project timelines and deadlines, tracks project timelines and deadlines, and uses time efficiently. -Interface and coordinate with internal and external clients as required for successful execution of regulatory affairs work activities. -Coordinate with the Regulatory Affairs management team and the Product and Project Delivery Office to coordinate and manage changes, including preliminary cost, duration, and risk estimations as requested by the management team. -Conduct regular status updates and work planning for projects where assigned as Planner. Licensing project planning team role assignments are made in coordination between Licensing Management and the Product and Project Delivery Office. -Support department-wide organizational and business process improvement and standardization initiatives. -Assess department capabilities versus resource demand and suggest training or other methods to maintain adequate technical competence and coverage. -Problem solving: Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and reviews information appropriately. Uses own judgment and acts independently; seeks input from other team members as appropriate for complex or sensitive situations. -Working within approved project phase plans provided by the Product and Project Delivery Office, generate detailed technical work plans, and assist supervisors with resource allocation, leveling, and prioritization to ensure efficient use of resources. -Prepare licensing project and departmental resource estimates and schedules.

What You Bring

-Education/Certification: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or a related field is required. A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred but not required. -Team Building: Capable of developing strong interpersonal networks and trust within the organization. -Quality Assurance: Demonstrates understanding and implementation of quality assurance regulations, standards and guidelines of 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR 21, and ASME NQA-1. -Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment. -Oral/written communication: Listens carefully and speaks clearly and professionally in all situations. Edits work for accuracy and clarity, is able to create, read, and interpret complex written information. Ability to develop strong interpersonal networks within the organization. -Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation. -Adaptability: Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands and is able to deal with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, or unexpected events. -Dependability: Consistently on time and at work, responds to management expectations and solicits feedback to improve performance. -Safety Culture: Adheres to the NuScale Safety culture and is expected to model safe behavior and influence peers to meet high standards. -Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of full-time experience working in a project-oriented work environment, preferably in the power or nuclear industries, is required. Understanding of engineering and/or licensing projects and terminology based on past work required. Strong technical writing and presentation skills and good communication, computer, presentation and interpersonal skills required. Experience in project management, scheduling, or planning preferred. Proficient in the use of Primavera P6 is required. -Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers. -Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
