Tasks

You will join the commercial team reporting into the Commercial/Estimating Manager. Your core responsibility will be to produce accurate, competitive and commercially viable tender submissions for civil engineering and infrastructure projects—from initial scope review to tender submission and hand-over into delivery. You will work closely with quantity surveyors, project managers, site engineers and the supply chain. -Maintain and update estimating databases, cost libraries and historical records. -Prepare detailed cost estimates (labour, plant, materials, subcontractors) for civils works (e.g., drainage, highways, utility infrastructure, earthworks). -Prepare and submit tender documentation and support pre-bid and post-bid negotiations. -Review and interpret drawings, specifications and contract documents to establish project scope. -Undertake risk assessments, carry out value engineering and provide clear tender commentary. -Transition successful tenders into the delivery team and contribute to continuous improvement. -Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain up-to-date pricing and maintain rate libraries.

What You Bring

-A strong understanding of civil works including drainage, highways, utilities, groundworks and reinstatement. -A proactive, organised work style, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously. -Access to a solid pipeline of infrastructure/utility work across the region. -Ability to interpret 2D drawings and specifications; and a working knowledge of contract types. -Significant experience (typically 3-5+ years) estimating within the civil engineering or infrastructure sector. -Commercial awareness, excellent numeracy and communication skills. -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel critical) and familiarity with estimating software (or willingness to learn).
