Considering and making Go/No-Go pursuit decisions in collaboration with Marketing and Market Sector Leader input based on overall strategic growth goals
Assessing the performance of the STV team members and taking action to rectify any shortfalls against expectations and to recognize and promote those of exceptional ability.
Identifying, recruiting, and developing talent with the aim of growing the business and ensuring a strong line of succession for key leadership roles in the operation.
Analyzing and understanding client, business, and industry issues that potentially affect STV’s business and preparing plans to position STV to capitalize on those trends.
Representing STV with clients, the industry, and the broader community across California, particularly with strong connections within the Bay Area and nearby regions.
Creating and implementing plans that align with and achieve STV’s strategic plan objectives.
Reviewing the scope, cost budget, risks and schedule for all contracts and agreements in the Region to ensure alignment of scope, budget, schedule and commercial risks prior to proposal submittal
Ensuring the project management practices adheres to STV’s policies and procedures.
Collaborating with Business Line Operations to review and sign off on project setup, including revenue and cost budgets, as-sold net margin and risk/contingency triggers
Maintaining close professional relationships with key people leaders within the transportation agencies, teaming partners, industry associations, and community organizations.
Participating in contract negotiations with clients to ensure STV’s business interests are reflected in executed agreements
Providing effective management of STV’s local business activities, including selection of STV’s client mix and services offering, adding new clients, winning new work, execution of projects, hiring locally based personnel, resource planning, and controlling overhead expenditure.
Scheduling regular client account check-ins with client account teams to align external engagement activities with specific pursuits and opportunities.
Having responsibility to sign contracts, amendments and task orders under STV’s delegation of authority
Developing strategies and solutions that address gaps in business processes, operational oversight and portfolio management.
Participating directly in strategic billable assignments aligned with the Region’s business plans that have to potential to help STV break into new geographic markets or emerging service lines.
Working with STV client service team leaders to ensure STV maintains and strengthens relationship with its clients.

Professional Registration: Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or Planner (AICP) in Colorado (and preferably additional states) desirable.
Market Experience: Have 15+ years of experience in relevant Transportation market sectors (Highway, Bridge, Transit, Aviation) with a proven track record in strategic planning, business & client development, operations & financial P&L management.
Business Growth: You will enjoy being both externally and internally facing, driving new business, optimizing relationships with existing clients, leading proposals/pursuit strategies, and leading a growing team of engineers and planners.
Educational Background: BS/MS in Engineering or Masters in Urban Planning or related Policy field
Multi-Disciplinary Technical Leadership: You will be a proven leader of multi-disciplinary design teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, Planners, Construction Managers, and Inspectors.
Market Specialization: You’ll be a subject matter expert in one or more disciplines, such as highway design, structural design, hydraulics, construction management, planning, or Transit.
