Tasks

The Business Development Assistant Manager will be responsible for providing organizational support to the preconstruction process, heavily focused on business development and early preconstruction efforts to manage pursuits, customers and the NexGen brand. The successful candidate will aid in communication with marketing on upcoming pursuits while primarily working within the company’s Action Register, CRM and Building Connected Bid Board as part of the preconstruction team. Additional duties related to Brand management to be implemented as part of the selected person’s growth plan. -Provides international business development support, as directed by Sales Manager. -Assist in developing, implementing and adhering to strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals. -Assign bid number -Daily review of Building Connected Bid Board for potential NEXGEN pursuits, recording the basic information in the CRM for review by the Preconstruction Team(s) -Aid in producing the NexGen Sales and Market Leader Reports -Assists in the preparation and presentation of proposals for new and existing projects. -Understand and operate the basic functions of sub/vendor solicitations in Building Connected in the event the procurement department needs additional support -Setup bid folders with project documents; including downloading documents for estimating team use -Complete the Bid Filter and RFP info sheets -Assists in project support as requested by project teams. -Oversight of pursuits across the life cycle from “Lead to Closed” status -Manage networking schedule to ensure visibility across the company -Initial customer contact/communication regarding bid efforts to complete the Bid Filter Sheet -Serves as liaison between sales department and business units. -Communicate findings to estimating, procurement and business development teams -Assists other departments within organization regarding business development issues. -Participate in strategic proposal teams for highly targeted projects to help coordinate efforts across multiple departments and business units -Assists in project site selection as needed. -Pursuit entry when invitations to bid are received into the CRM -Coordinate bid bond needs -Follow up to ensure feedback is received and distributed to the Executive team -Delivers sales presentations to key customers in coordination with business unit managers. -Develop professional relationships with new and existing customers, industry representatives and economic development representatives. -Create standard bid folder on the server -Coordinate all invitations to bid after they receive the “Go” status -Provides business development plan for assigned market areas of responsibility. -Prepare regular sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed customer base expansion. -Management of notes from Internal Sales meetings and communications -Represents company at trade shows and trade association meetings. -Upload initial documents in designated folders -Meets with key customers maintaining relationships, negotiating and closing deals. -Send and receive customer surveys when asked

Specific vision abilities required include close vision. -Proficient in all Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.) -Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related bachelor’s degree or minimum 1-5 years of experience in a related role or any equivalent combination of education and experience. -Experience in the construction industry is a plus -Initial Go/No-Go completion when invitations to bid are received -Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office and Excel. -Conceptual ability to work with minimum information -Excellent verbal and written communication skills
