Tasks
-May manage civil structural engineering staff by ensuring they are meeting expectations and promoting their professional development. -Perform work in accordance with design control procedures, ensuring thorough documentation of work, facilitation of internal and external design reviews, and control of product design configuration data. -Support identifying the resources needed to support system design development and allocate existing resources among the civil and structural design teams to ensure project needs are met. -Analysis – Responsible for analysis of civil or structural systems and components, including static and dynamic analysis, linear and nonlinear analysis, finite element method, probabilistic and deterministic approaches, as well as fragility and risk assessment. -Supports with the management of the utilization of engineering resources across multiple projects and ensures qualified engineers are performing assigned work. -Identify, report, disposition, and manage risks for work activities related to Civil and Structural designs. Additionally develop, implement, and manage appropriate risk mitigation strategies. Communicate these risks to the management. -Design – Responsible for design of structures, systems, and components following codes and standards, regulations, project-specific requirements, and other applicable requirements. -Oversee the work of the engineers that are responsible for the civil and structural design including oversight of system design work, work planning, monitoring design progress, and controlling the complete engineering effort through all the development life cycles. -Maintain professional demeanor and behavior at all times in all forms of communication. -Provide periodic updates to the management for ongoing activities and progress on engineering deliverables. -Ensure that the technical work products meet the contract / client requirements and are delivered on schedule and within budget. -Provide interface support between systems for each of the civil and structural designs. Communicate system changes between system owners and engineering managers to coordinate updates that occur in each location of the plant site. -Support interfacing and discussions with the construction teams to facilitate design progression for the site layout and civil and structural construction sequencing. -Site Engineering – Responsible for site layout, civil works, as well as common plant civil/structural systems and processes. -Assist in resolving project related issues (e.g., budget, schedule, risk) with Engineering and Project Managers, other internal stakeholders, and suppliers. -Lead engineering design, analysis, or evaluation adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program / project requirements in one of the following specializations:

What You Bring
-Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or related technical field is required. -Experience with Staad.Pro, SAP2000, MathCAD and L-Pile -Experience with ASCE 4/43, ACI 349, and AISC N690 is highly preferred. -Experience being a project lead or people manager / supervisor is preferred. -Experience with design of steel structures, concrete structures, composite structures and foundations; -A basic understanding of the nuclear regulatory process related to civil and structural designs is required. -Typically, seven plus years of experience in civil structure design, in which a minimum of three years of experience need to be in the nuclear industry, or ten plus years civil structural design experience for power generation or industrial process facilities is required -Experience with ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC 360, AISC 341, and AWS D1.1/D1.4
