-Mentors and trains younger engineers and designers -Applies advanced practices and techniques, adjusts and correlates data, recognizes discrepancies, and follows projects through program, schematic, design development, construction document, bidding, and construction phases. -Supervises, coordinates, and reviews work -Reviews final adjustment of equipment and systems after installation -Develop reports, studies, and system analysis -Schedules and assigns work to meet completion dates -Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in independent evaluation, selection, adoption, and modifications of standard techniques and procedures -Works with the Principal, Associate, or Project Manager to finalize project scope and schedule of deliverables and understands priorities identified -Is assisted on projects by other engineers and/or designers -Evaluates application of substitute equipment -Estimates workforce needs, schedules, and assigns work to meet completion date and updates the project manager as to status and resources available -Writes or contacts clients directly except in controversial matters
-Bachelor of Science or equivalent -Preferably has a Professional Engineering License (P.E.) or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) working toward P.E. Licensing -Eight years of experience in responsible charge of project design in respective discipline plus advanced courses, training program or seminars relating to Engineering and Management -A fully competent engineer in all conventional aspects of the area of their assignment -Ability to represent the firm at meetings and cover all trades, which may require further follow through -Possesses a professional attitude showing interest in M/E's reputation and growth
