HDR is looking for a Transportation Planning Section Lead for our New York/New Jersey Transportation Planning Practice. This individual will lead planning and environmental review studies, manage projects and tasks, mentor staff, build and maintain client relationships, and participate in business development activities to help to grow HDR's transportation planning practice in the region.

  • Contribute to the development of stakeholder and public involvement plans and help to guide the public involvement process.
  • Collect, analyze and interpret data (demographic, socioeconomic, land use) and summarize it in written format and in tables, charts and maps.
  • Manage multidisciplinary project teams during the project development phase of transportation projects and for siting studies, land use and transportation plans, alternatives analysis, impact assessment, regulatory approvals, and funding.
  • Lead planning workshops and charettes to guide client decisionmaking.
  • Effectively manage projects and tasks, including staffing, scope, schedule, budget and quality reviews.
  • Prepare, edit, format and produce concise readable documentation for public consumption.
  • Support the development of HDR’s Transportation Planning practice in New York by offering strategic leadership and mentoring;
  • Serve as strategic planning consultant, program manager, and client advisor in your area of transportation planning expertise.
  • Identify and support opportunities for business sector growth and prepare technical and cost proposals. Preferred Qualifications:
