The Role

Overview

Conduct distribution planning studies, analysis, and reporting for power grid projects.

Tasks

-Assists in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance engineering study completion. -Perform research and analysis work related to the proliferation of distributed energy resources and distribution automation capabilities including solar, wind, storage, electric vehicles, conservation voltage reduction, automated circuit restoration, and other emerging technologies. -Prepare reports, letters, one-line diagrams, and maps to communicate study results. -Provide client support on electrical theory, technical problem-solving, code compliance, and other technical subject matter. -Participates in multi-functional teams to obtain input, address comments, and perform studies. -Perform classic distribution planning studies including load growth projections based on historical trends, power flow studies in multiple software environments, planning criteria mitigation studies, and alternative analysis. -Work with industry leaders -Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives. -Process, generate, and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies. -Identify expected system impacts from the interconnection of distributed energy resource technologies and determine appropriate and cost-effective mitigation measures where necessary.

What You Bring

-Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, particularly with respect to explaining technical matters. -Strong technical report writing skills. -Flexible with the ability to manage change.Have high standards in producing quality reports and products that he/she shall own with pride. -Bachelor’s degree in Electric Engineering with an emphasis in power systems -Experience automating/programing in Python preferred. -Capable of managing multiple tasks. -Proven team player with the ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships. -Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and analytical skills.
