The Role
Overview
Estimate civil scopes for water/wastewater plant projects, handling take‑offs, bids & contracts.

Tasks
-Evaluate bids and develop scope comparison documents -Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients, and represent McCarthy at industry events -Perform quantity take-offs -Develop civil cost models and GMP estimates for CMAR and Design Build construction projects -Collaborate with internal partners and engineers to help influence project design -Communicate with engineers and owners to clarify scope of work, materials, and schedule requirements -Prepare contractual exhibits for scope of work for subcontracts, and direct information/documents to subcontractors -Participate in the internal estimate review process and assist with final assembly of estimate presentation for owner -Review of the project documents to identify value engineering suggestions and alternative pricing

What You Bring
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related major required -General knowledge of estimating software including HCSS HeavyBid, AGTEK, and/or On-Screen Takeoff is preferable, but not required. -General knowledge of construction principles and processes, as well as cost model and GMP processes -Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and geotechnical reports -Self-perform civil experience (preconstruction or operations) is strongly desired -Knowledge of Microsoft programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook -Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail -Strong organizational and communication skills -General technical knowledge of civil construction, with specific experience in water and wastewater treatment plant projects is preferred but not required. -Demonstrate behaviors consistent with McCarthy core values while maintaining a "value added" approach to estimating
