Tasks

Building better roads for safer journeys – He pai ake te hanga o ngā rori, kia haumaru ai ngā haerenga Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will join an experienced team who manage the full tender process, including risk prediction, assessment and valuation; preparation, review, and delivery of tenders and quotes; pricing of variations; attribute writing and detailed bid submission.

What You Bring

We are looking for an experienced Estimator to join the Higgins team based in Hamilton. You will be a key part of the bidding and tender preparation processes for the Waikato Region – projects ranging in value up to $20 million. We are seeking a candidate with a minimum of 2-3 years of Estimating experience in the Civil Construction industry. Experience across all civil disciplines, including earthworks, pavements, surfacing, and drainage, is highly beneficial. Higgins is committed to a drug-free workplace. The successful applicant will be required to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing along with a health check – you’ll need to be fit for work! -Ability to handle a diverse workload, whilst finding creative and forward-thinking solutions -Proven experience working on civil construction and/or roading tenders and projects -Client engagement experience, you will work with clients/customers to ensure they understand our bids and resolve concerns or issues -Technical qualifications preferred -Proficient with CCS Candy, Benchmark and Microsoft Projects -Sound contractual knowledge especially NZS 3910:2013 -A result focused, commercially astute outlook and a practical approach to problem solving -Minimum of 2-3 years Estimating Experience in the Civil Construction Industry -Hands on experience working on tenders and bids and their complexities

About Higgins
