Tasks

The Tax Analyst is primarily responsible for managing tax compliance and projects, focusing heavily on pass-through tax laws and real estate methodologies. Key duties involve the preparation of federal and state pass-through tax returns and associated workpapers, identifying and resolving complex tax issues, and conducting research for strategic tax planning opportunities for the company’s real estate portfolio. -Prepare estimated tax payments -Work with accounting department in maintaining depreciation system within book, state, federal and alternative minimum tax requirements. -Tax projections, audits and examination of taxable entities. -Work with accounting department for job closures from work in progress for tax benefit maximization -Stay current with new tax laws and regulations. -Structure and document transactions to maximize tax objectives. -Review property expenditures to maximize tax benefits -Planning and researching of federal and state income tax issues. -Prepare Federal and multi-state pass-through tax returns.

What You Bring

-Knowledge of section 263A and ability to review calculations of capitalized interest. -Ability to be discrete and maintain confidentiality. -A minimum of 3 years public accounting or related experience -Very proficient in Excel. -CPA certificate (or CPA Eligible). -Current experience in pass-through, corporate and individual taxation, preferably with a focus in commercial real estate. -Ability to identify and pursue alternative solutions. -Valid Driver License. -Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or finance is required. -Critical and analytical thinking. -Ability to present ideas and clearly communicate strategies. -Possess a positive outlook with ability to stay organized and efficient under pressure -Graduate degree in taxation or accounting a definite plus. -Proficient in Windows based environment (MS Word, Excel). -Have current working knowledge of tax depreciation methods and issues -Excellent verbal and written communication with good interpersonal skills. -Experience in individual, estate and trust taxation is a plus. -Able to organize complex facts or data into manageable form. -Knowledgeable and experienced in software-based tax compliance systems.
