Overview
Design engineer for oil & gas pressure vessels, handling design, procurement, and project delivery.

Tasks
-Directly responsible to the Engineering Manager and Lead Engineers in their absence -Assisting in the development of new equipment/new product ranges (workload permitting) -Submission of required contract documentation to client/third party, via the Documentation department -Will undertake reasonable instructions from senior personnel in the best interests of the company -Liaison with Quality/Production to ensure ‘sub-contract’ and ‘in-house’ activity is considered and controlled -Responsible for various ongoing projects including the cost-effective design, material procurement, instigation, control and compilation and submission of all associated engineering documentation -Organisation of the duties, tasks & workload of engineers assisting on larger contracts. -Verification of designs by calculations and/or FEA/CFD (analysis to be carried out under supervision) -Direct supervision of sub-ordinates; may have the services of Junior Engineers, Draughtspersons and Trainee Engineers -Instigation and ongoing control of projects/contracts from Sales hand-over through to delivery. -Liaises internally with all departments -Using standard components and referencing part numbers from the company system, where possible -Designing products that are safe and in accordance with Health & Safely legislation -Organisation and preparation of all engineering documentation requirements, as required by the contract -Producing General Arrangement drawings, Manufacturing drawings and Technical Specifications -Designing products that comply with applicable design codes, e.g. ASME VIII, ASME B31.3, etc. -Producing material requisitions to ensure all material/quantity/technical requirements are identified -Assisting Sales in the preparation of quotation drawings/documentation (workload permitting) -Supervising workshop personnel and/or sub-contractors, as required -Liaises externally with clients, certified authorities, third party inspection bodies, suppliers, sub-contractors, etc. -Designing products that comply with applicable governing legislation, e.g. 2014/68/EU (PED) -Assisting in the creation of standard 3D models and library parts (workload permitting) -Producing 3D models for estimating weights, volumes, interferences, determining complex geometry, etc. -Creating cost effective designs by integration of common parts and standardisation of components

What You Bring
ASME PV code knowledge required (i.e. ASME VIII) SolidWorks & 3D Modelling Knowledge of manufacturing, welding, piping and materials essential Experience of working within the Oil & Gas industry preferred Industry: Oil & Gas (Pressure Vessel experience is a must) AutoCAD experience essential Minimum GCSE Grade 5 (equivalent grade C) or higher in Maths & English HNC in Mechanical Engineering or similar Experience of fabricated & cast filters, strainers and pressure vessels required Essential knowledge of Microsoft packages (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Adobe Acrobat

Holidays +Birthday Leave (after 2 full calendar years’ service) Salary: up to £50,500 (depending on experience) plus performance bonus (paid twice yearly in June & December payslip), Plus Flexitime (employees can choose their working pattern) Office hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 37-hour week. Flexible start and finish times are available with core hours which must be covered each day.
