The Role

Overview

Design and analyze bridges and related structures for transportation projects.

Tasks

-Support field inspections and data collection efforts. -Collaborate with team with structural analysis and/or design of bridges (including steel beam, prestressed concrete beam, concrete slab, pedestrian bridges, culverts, retaining walls, grade separations, stream crossings, bridge hydraulic analysis, bridge rehabilitations, bridge feasibility studies, bridge structure type studies, bridge load ratings, railroad bridges, and design-build pursuits). -Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal standards and regulations. -Conduct load ratings and structural evaluations of existing bridges. -Contribute to project documentation, including reports, calculations, and cost estimates. -Prepare drawings, plans, and technical specifications for bridge and roadway projects. -Collaborate with senior engineers and project teams to solve engineering challenges.

What You Bring

-Required: Knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications and Manual for Bridge Evaluation. -Required: 1-5 years of bridge/culvert design experience. -Preferred: Experience with CAD plan development, MicroStation/ORD. -Required: Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Structural emphasis preferred. -Preferred: EIT Certification -Required: Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
