Overview

Assist Hydrovac Operator with safe excavation, equipment handling, and site cleanup.

Tasks

-Support the Hydrovac Operator in performing safe and efficient excavations around underground utilities -Identify and report hazards and unsafe conditions immediately -Help ensure daily reports, safety logs, and client forms are completed accurately -Assist with debris disposal and backfilling as required -Follow directions promptly during excavation to maintain safety and efficiency -Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) -Assist in daily inspection and maintenance of tools, hoses, and hydrovac units -Handle hoses and other hydrovac equipment on site -Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of obstructions -Support regular housekeeping of equipment and vehicles -Follow company safety procedures and Alberta OH&S regulations -Assist in recording site activities or completing basic field paperwork as needed -Assist with Hydrovac Excavation Activities

What You Bring

-Applicants must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions -Strong situational awareness and the ability to work safely around underground utilities -Communicate effectively with the Hydrovac Operator and other crew members -Remain adaptable to changing work environments, weather, and project demands -Ability to accurately follow both verbal and written instructions -Willingness to work extended hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as required -Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, working in confined spaces, and performing duties in various weather conditions -Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a hydrovac or construction-related role -Basic understanding of hydrovac operations and general job site safety practices -Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and supervisors -Team-oriented with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and performance -Complete required safety training and site-specific orientations -Be prepared to support other tasks as assigned on-site
