Manage financials for assigned projects including setup, invoicing, reporting, and closure.

Tasks

-Implement process or procedural changes identified and rolled out by management. -Evaluate project setup and budget change documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, internal controls and IFRS. -Build strong relationships with and serve as a trusted advisor to our internal business partners including Project Managers (PM) and Project Manager Assistants (PMA). -Provide excellent customer service and a customercentric focus, while providing a quality of work that consistently meets or exceeds expectations. -Collaborate with Stantec’s finance team in Pune, India to ensure timely delivery and accurate completion of tasks they support. -Prepare internal and external audit support and respond to inquiries from PA Leadership and Finance Managers. -Independently organize and prioritize workload to ensure timely completion of deliverables. Escalate concerns/issues to PAL as required. -Financial management of projects assigned by the Project Accounting Lead (PAL), which includes but is not limited to project setup, maintenance, invoicing, and project closure. -Collaborate with PM and PMA to recommend an appropriate work breakdown structure (WBS), issue accurate and contractually compliant invoices, and perform other ad hoc functions as requested. -Build and maintain relationships with other Project Accountants and other FST members, including Finance Managers, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, to ensure collaborative teamwork.

What You Bring

-Ability to identify potential implications of actions to mitigate downstream financial impacts. -Postsecondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field preferred. -Basic Microsoft Excel skills required with an intermediate level understanding preferred. -Ability to independently review contracts and understand the contract terms regarding project type, scope of work and invoicing terms. -Experience with Oracle preferred but not required. -General accounting knowledge obtained through experience and/or education. -Must be organized, willing to embrace change and have a strong attention to detail. -Excellent problemsolving skills are required. -03 years of related experience preferred but not required. -Excellent customer service and communication skills (written and oral) along with the ability to build and foster excellent working relationships.
