Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work and enter into computer estimating system; review computer reports for accuracy and completeness
Request quotes from suppliers for materials and equipment
Prior to the issuing of formal bid packages, provide principles a detailed review of scope, technical requirements and pricing for the estimated bid package
Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and solicit quotes. Review quotes for completeness with established plans and specifications
After the successful bid at project turnover, meet with Project Management to fully explain the estimate, scope of work, quotes and offer aspects for the successful transition of the project
Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
Responsible for the timely completion of all client-required documents
Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimate figures
Itemize and quantify all incidentals necessary in preparing the bid packages including subcontract work, equipment rentals, tools and suppliers

Must possess a current state driver's license
Experience in Accubid software preferred
Thrives in deadline-driven environment and adapts to changing requirements with a positive attitude
Ability to interpret computerized cost data and systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc)
Ability to understand and follow standard operating policies and procedures
High School Graduate or GED
Applicable federal, state, and local certifications as required by job conditions or by the company
Experience in CAD and/or 3D software preferred, but not required
Proficient in reading and analyzing blueprints and engineering design drawings
Problem solver, capable of navigating unique challenges with limited guidelines
Sitting and standing for extended periods, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending and lifting (up to 40lbs.)
Advanced knowledge of assigned discipline, construction technology, estimating techniques and cost control
Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
Experience in Live Count preferred, but not required
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines effectively
Strong mathematical abilities with precision in performing complex estimating calculations
Professional and effective in building strong relationships with colleagues, vendors, clients, and stakeholders
Customer-focused with ability to understand and exceed client needs and expectations
