The Role

Overview

Tasks

-Lead the design and delivery of projects ranging from new communities, redevelopment plans, and mixed-use sites to master plans and urban realm design. -Collaborate across B&A and CIMA+, connecting design with engineering, infrastructure, and environmental disciplines to deliver truly integrated solutions. -Champion design innovation, sustainability, and inclusivity in every project. -Develop and nurture relationships with clients, municipalities, developers, and other professionals, helping grow our portfolio of work through reputation and trust. -Mentor and support junior staff, fostering an environment of learning, collaboration, and design excellence. -Collaborating with professionals across Canada on projects that shape communities of all sizes. -Manage multidisciplinary teams, ensuring projects are delivered with creativity, quality, and care - on time, on budget, and aligned with client objectives. -Contribute to business development efforts, including proposals, competitions, and studio promotion initiatives. -Contributing to projects that matter — from transformative urban redevelopments to forward-thinking greenfield communities.

What You Bring

-A degree in Urban Design, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related field. -Strong communication and presentation skills — both visual and verbal — with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and compellingly to diverse audiences. -Professional accreditation (or eligibility) with the Alberta Association of Architects (AAA) or Alberta Association of Landscape Architects (AALA) is strongly preferred. -A strong understanding of urban design principles, planning frameworks, and development processes in Alberta and Western Canada. -Exceptional conceptual and graphic design skills, with proficiency in tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, AutoCAD, SketchUp, GIS, Revit, and/or other design software. -A minimum of 8–12 years of professional experience in urban design, architecture, or landscape architecture, including experience leading projects and managing teams.
