The Role
Overview
Lead civil engineering design and delivery for multiple land development projects.

Tasks
-Utilize strong organizational and scheduling skills to effectively track project progress and deliverables, providing regular updates to project stakeholders. -Consult and coordinate with other practices and sub-consultants as required -Comply with all KCI policies and procedures -Coordinate with internal and external teams to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project execution. -Review and approve shop drawings -Ensure projects fulfill ISO compliance requirements -Design and prepare deliverables for multiple land development projects simultaneously, ensuring successful completion within defined timelines and budgets. -Achieve or exceed budgeted individual utilization target(80-85% typical) -Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies. -Compare field data to base plan -Communicate and collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders to understand project requirements, scope, and objectives. -Read and interpret technical documents needed for performance of job -Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff. -Prepare preliminary concept designs and submit for approval -Operate within specified (corporate or project) budget parameters -Conduct site visits and gather data, including measurements, sketches, notes and photographs as needed -Prepare and review engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD and Civil 3D software. -Foster and maintain positive relationships with clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future collaboratioRequirements -Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in engineering techniques and technologies. -Complete all tasks on time and within budget while fully meeting the scope -Attend bi-weekly(or more frequently as necessary) meetings with project team on all projects/tasks -Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information and ensure project compliance with local regulations and standards. -Train adequate backup personnel to support your role in your absence -Prepare design calculations, drawings, specifications and cost estimates for review and approval

What You Bring
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing engineering plans, reports, and documentation. -Minimum of 4 years of experience in site civil engineering, preferably in North Carolina -Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively convey complex engineering concepts to diverse audiences. -Knowledge of construction practices, materials, and methods. -Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently with minimal supervision. -Strong proficiency in using Civil 3D AutoCAD software. -Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with a demonstrated track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. -Minimum of 4 - 8 years of professional experience. -Familiarity with local regulations, permitting processes, and design standards -Professional Engineer (PE) license is required -Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position. -Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field. -Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Appropriate graduate level work is preferred.
