The Role

Overview

Lead design and delivery of municipal infrastructure projects in BC and Western Canada.

Tasks

-Ensure health and safety policies are adhered to at all sites and report to Manager and Joint Health and Safety Committee Members. -Coordinate design and field staff required for internal project teams, including directing, coordinating, and reviewing work done by staff. -Lead the planning, design, and execution of municipal infrastructure projects (roads, water, wastewater, stormwater, etc.) of varying size and complexity. -Write, sign and seal reports/drawings as required. -Monitor project schedule and budgets within your area of responsibility and report the status as required on a regular basis. -Pursue the obtaining of all necessary approvals and permits for projects, including those from municipalities and provincial agencies. -Oversee project delivery from concept to construction, ensuring timelines and budgets are met. -Ensure quality control and compliance with corporate requirements, industry standards and municipal / regulatory requirements. -Manage multidisciplinary project teams and liaise with clients, municipal approving authorities, stakeholders, regulatory bodies and contractors, as needed. -Participate in business development efforts including writing and pricing proposal efforts, securing new projects/clients, as needed. -Review project designs, specifications, and contract documents. -Actively pursue new business opportunities and contribute to strategic growth initiatives. -Provide detailed engineering design solutions and input on the design process for projects, both complex and small, including providing support to other Project Managers and other design team members.

What You Bring

-Strong detail orientation -Demonstrated ability to perform individually or as a member of project teams -Project Management experience -Ability to multi-task is critical, must be able to meet deadlines -Fully conversant with Microsoft software applications -University Bachelor’s degree in Civil engineering -Organized, works well under pressure and able to deal with situations with tact -Minimum10 years of experience in Municipal engineering and project management -Proven track record managing and delivering municipal infrastructure projects -Proficiency and extensive experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microstation would be an asset -Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with strong leadership and team-building skills -A valid driver's license and vehicle is required -Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia or eligibility for license/equivalent -Strong understanding of the local industry, municipal standards, and regulatory environment
