Material Coordinator

Manages material procurement, receipt, storage, issuance, and inventory for construction projects.

Tasks

-Properly stack and store materials in the designated storage area, maintaining organisation and easy accessibility. -Reject materials that do not meet the required specifications, prepare return notes, and coordinate with suppliers for returns or replacements. -Ensure materials are stored in accordance with safety and environmental regulations. -Submit the receipt notes or return notes to the accounts department for processing and record-keeping. -Submit Documentation to Accounts -Conduct monthly physical stock verification to tally the book stock with the actual physical stock. Prepare and submit stock verification reports to management. -Monitor stock levels to identify when materials need to be reordered and prepare reordering requests to avoid shortages. -Update and maintain inventory records in the inventory management system, ensuring accuracy and availability of data for stock levels, material movement, and usage. -Coordinate with the procurement department to track the purchasing orders and ensure that materials are ordered as per the site’s needs. -Supplier Coordination for Delivery -Receipt Note Preparation -Prepare accurate receipt notes for all materials received, ensuring that all details are recorded correctly. -Liaise with the Project Director (PD) or Project Manager (PM) to determine material requirements for the site. -Communicate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials, aligning with the site schedule and requirements. -Notify the site management team when materials are received and ready for use. -Prepare indents for the necessary materials, ensuring timely and accurate requisitions. -Issue materials to the site as per request, ensuring proper documentation through the preparation of issue notes with supporting records. -Follow-Up on Purchase Orders -Receive materials delivered to the site, cross-check with the purchase order, and verify the quantity and quality based on the delivery note. -Collaborate with the QA/QC department to arrange material inspections when necessary, ensuring compliance with project specifications.

What You Bring

-Proficient in using inventory management software and Microsoft Office. -Have an education background of Diploma -Effective communication and coordination skills. -Time management and the ability to prioritize tasks. -Have 5 of years of experience -Strong organizational skills with attention to detail -Proven experience as a Storekeeper in a construction company or a similar role. -Familiarity with quality control processes and construction material specifications. -Knowledge of inventory management, material handling, and storage practices. -Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
