Tasks

-Support sustainability initiatives to reduce the organization’s environmental footprint, promote energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and the use of sustainable materials. -Monitor for conditions affecting the organization’s EHS performance to assess the effectiveness of those programs and make recommendations for improvements. -Support the organization’s compliance with applicable local, state, and federal regulations within North America. -Stay current with evolving regulations, industry trends, and best practices. -Maintain relevant EHS programs and policies and ensure they are effectively implemented. -Participate in the incident management processes including investigations of workplace accidents, near miss and unsafe condition reporting, and environmental incidents. -Develop and facilitate comprehensive EHS training for all levels of the organization. -Coordinate with other members of the EHS team to ensure consistent implementation of policies and procedures.

What You Bring

-Must be able to safely navigate uneven surfaces, including ballast and outdoor rail yard environments, as well as climb on and off railroad equipment. -Valid driver’s license and passport allowing to travel to all 50 states of the United States of America as well as Canada and Mexico. -Working knowledge of FRA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory regulations. -An additional 2 years of qualifying experience may be considered as a substitute for the education requirement. -First Aid & CPR w/AED -Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and compliance tracking systems. -Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills. -Railroad safety training and certifications -May lift up to 30 lbs. occasionally. -Ability to work independently while collaborating with various departments. -Office deskwork, sitting, walking, using phone & computer -50% or more travel including international. -Can tolerate variable and sometimes challenging conditions during visits to company equipment in a railroad environment. -OSHA 30 for General Industry or Construction
