Tasks

-Role model appropriate and professional workplace behaviors, address/mediate conflicts to restore harmony, and support a positive, healthy and inclusive workplace culture in accordance with S&C's mission, vision, values and guiding principles. -Drive process improvements and best practices in payroll operations. -Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and facilitate professional development opportunities. -Foster a culture of accountability, precision, and continuous improvement. -Provide training and development opportunities for payroll team members. -Manage payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and audits. -Review and approve payroll transmissions and ensure payroll tax accounts are reconciled. -Prepare and review payroll reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, year-end). -Support system integration efforts and global payroll harmonization. -Partner with HRIS and IT teams to optimize payroll workflows and data accuracy. -Manage and mentor payroll team members. -Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. -Proactively establish, monitor, and hold team members and outside resources accountable to clear responsibilities and expectations, provide ongoing performance feedback, both positive and developmental, address performance gaps in a timely manner, recognize and reward achievements, and initiate decisions for corrective actions and terminations where required. -Manage the ADP relationship and performance of key KPI's. -Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of payroll professionals. -Provide corporate support to payroll related decision making at other S&C legal entities. -Foster a positive and productive work environment. -Serve as the subject matter expert for payroll-related audits and inquiries. -Automate payroll processes including but not limited to timesheets, reporting, and general ledger integration. -Ensure compliance with federal, state, provincial, and local payroll laws and regulations. -Communicate complex subjects, written and oral, to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. -Ensure controls compliance and internal control effectiveness. -Lead payroll system optimizations and standardization. -Collaborate with HR, Finance, IT and Legal on cross-functional projects.

What You Bring

-Continuously working indoors in an air-conditioned or home setting. -Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. -Sound organizational and time management skills with the ability to complete detail-oriented work efficiently and meet timelines. -CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) preferred. -Excellent understanding of accounting principles, financial regulations, and AP processes. -Strong knowledge of payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Ceridian). -Experience of multi-country payroll operations. -Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Concur or similar). -Excellent analytical skills with the ability to use and analyze complex financial and statistical data to drive informed decisions, problem-solve difficult issues but also see the "big picture", and leverage data and learnings to drive continuous improvement. -Ascending / Descending - Infrequently ascending or descending stairs. -Observation / Eyesight - Infrequently required to observe details at close range including depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to differentiate between colors. -Communication - Frequently required to talk and hear, in person and by phone/conference calls. -Manual Dexterity - Infrequently required to use hand-eye coordination to control both hands and arms for a full range of motion to operate productivity equipment. -Experience with ERP and T&E management software (Oracle, Concur). -Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement. -Sitting - Frequently required to remain in a stationary position and perform desk-based work for approximately 5 days per work week. -Rounded interpersonal skills to establish meaningful relationships built on mutual trust and respect, navigate and resolve conflict, moderate behaviors and foster collaborative working relationships amongst a diverse audience. -Good leadership skills, with the ability to lead, guide, motivate, and delegate to deliver results. -Good change management skills with the ability to lead positive change throughout the organization. -Excellent sense of financial ethics and commitment towards compliance with financial legislation. -Proficient in MS applications, including excellent Excel skills. -Walking - Occasionally required to walk moderate distances up to 1 mile as part of performance audit procedures (frequency - e.g. "multiple times each week/day/hour"). -Fluency in Spanish is a plus. -5-7 years of experience in accounts payable, with a least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role. -Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. -Great project management skills with a willingness to take ownership of projects, work independently, and lead project teams in a collaborative environment. -Travel - Occasionally required to travel (up to 15%) and work extended hours when necessary. Required to travel overnight. Required to travel internationally, Physical demands are those typically associated with an office environment, but may also include laboratory environments, factory environments, and customer/field environments. -10+ years of payroll experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role. -Great communication skills, (written, verbal, listening and presentation) able to liaise with internal and external stakeholders at all levels from leadership to support staff, managers, and team members. -Ability to travel periodically (0-15% annually), including internationally.
