Multi Skilled Operative

Overview

Perform grounds upkeep, handyman tasks, and equipment operation at Gyle Shopping Centre.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks

-Carry out minor repairs including fixing slabs, door handles, and fixtures -Assist tenants and respond to maintenance requests -Maintain flower beds, borders, and other green areas -Apply treatments such as fertilisers and weed control -Identify and report health and safety issues -Act as a helpful point of contact for visitors and tenants -Change filters on AHUs and perform basic Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) tasks -Perform grass cutting, hedge trimming, weeding, and seasonal planting -Operate mechanical sweepers, pressure washers -Ensure maintenance checks are completed, and site-specific compliance is met -Maintain a professional and approachable manner at all times

-Willingness to follow instructions and safety procedures -Technical qualification not necessary but desirable -Attention to detail and proactive attitude -Flexible and adaptable to meet operational needs -Easy to use clocking in/out system for accurate payroll recording -Ability to work independently and as part of a team -Working at Height required use of MEWP (training provided) -Good communication and interpersonal skills -PA1 & PA6 desirable -Provent experience as a Handyman and or grounds maintenance required -First Aid at Work (desirable) -Clear leaves, litter, and debris from outdoor spaces -Driver Licence required -IPATH desirable
