Tasks

The Pipefitter Chargehand is required to deliver a high quality, consistent and competent Pipefitting Chargehand service including making up sections of high and / or low pressure piping systems are ready for installation in accordance with Project / Company requirements, standards and procedures. To support overall delivery of company goals and schedule and to ensure that the entire work scope is completed in a safe manner ensuring no detrimental impact to personnel, fabric or environment. -Instruct construction personnel in the performance of their work -Demonstrate and promote PD&MS values and lead by example -Provide timely feedback to supervisor of ongoing status or completion of the task -Select length of stainless steel, steel alloy, iron, copper, aluminium or plastic piping and to cut it to the required size with hacksaw, pipe cutter or machine -Operate trade required machinery including relevant workshops/site equipment associated with job requirements -Read, understand and implement all applicable company / project policies, working practices and procedures, ensuring at all times that the scope is completed in accordance with company procedures, and to the highest standard of safety -Check pipe preparations, tack welded joints, alignment, straightness and dimensional accuracy -To complete all Pipefitting work in accordance with company procedures and applicable standards -Adhere to all safety requirements including safety checks of tools and equipment -Attend meetings as and when required -Bend piping by machine or heat with blow lamp and bend by hand -Carry out Firewatch / Stand By duties -Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to complete work scope in a safe and controlled manner -Install prefabricated sections on site -Attend and participate positively in training sessions and safety sessions -Attend and participate positively in toolbox talks -Form piping from sheet metal -Prepare and position pipework and flanges for subsequent welding, alignment orientation, gaps, spacing, straightness whilst welding and arc welding -Operate overhead cranes including basic slinging in a safe manner -Installation of small bore tubing -Complete all work scope in accordance with applicable workpack / job card instructions, associated procedures and drawings / sketches -Join metal piping by soldering or thread cutting and screwing and plastic piping by cementing or fusing by hot air welding -Responsible for the quality and quantity of work undertaken by construction personnel -Provide support to other trades/disciplines where required, or form part of an integrated multi-discipline team

What You Bring

This role is required to support an upcoming TAR project at our clients site in Grangemouth. 3-6 months work available initially via a NAECI agreement. Candidates must have a valid site safety passport for this role. -Previous experience in a similar role -Valid Driving License -Demonstrable experience in conducting Audits and Investigations including Permit to Work -Understanding of relevant Oil & Gas Industry Codes and Standards relevant to role -Experience in managing and developing others -Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate - MJI18 & MJI19 (Preferably) -Mechanical Joint Integrity Certificate- MJI10 -Relevant Completions Certificate e.g. GoC/Orbit etc. (Preferably) -ECITB approved SBT 01, 02 & 03 (Installation) & 04 (Testing) -Reasonable written and spoken English -CCNSG Safety Passport -Abrasive Wheels Awareness Training (Preferably) -Use of Oxy / fuel hand burning / heating / cutting equipment -KT-PF (applicable to Pipefitters) -Overhead Pendant Crane Operation (Preferably) -Time Served / Modern Apprenticeship approved by City & Guilds or NVQ/SVQ Level 3, and / or relevant and recognised technical qualification approved by an appropriate awarding body
