Overview

Inspect, repair, and maintain aluminum extrusion dies and press tooling.

Tasks

-Review die inspection reports for proper corrective action -Operate equipment such mills, cranes, die oven use and nitriding system safely -Evaluate existing tooling for replacement -Inspect new dies upon arrival from vendor -While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. -Evaluate test dies -Keep work areas safe and clean -Inform supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems associated with requirements/responsibilities -While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. -Rework and repair all die tooling as necessary with the guidance of Group Leader/Supervisor. -Repair and preventative maintenance of production tooling

What You Bring

-Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables. -Must know how to polish and flatten bearings -Ability to wear proper PPE for tasks associated with operations -Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. -Must be able to read/understand blueprints -Must understand reaction to die tooling under pressure: -Must also pass a skills-based test. -Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented. -Ability to use hoists and cranes. -Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. -The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. -Must know the differences in 6000 series alloys -Must understand billet flow and temperatures -HS Diploma/GED -Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. -Must be computer literate -Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter. -Must pass a company background check and drug screen. -Ability to accurately use calipers/micrometers, bore scope, feeler and pin gauges -Must have strong problem-solving ability
