Tasks
-Prepare report and technical memorandum -Prepare construction drawings, quantities, cost estimates and specifications -Develop Erosion and Sediment Control and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) -Design Stormwater Best Management Practice (BMPs) or SWM facilities to meet state and local requirements -Perform technical work in various software applications, including but not limited to MicroStation, Openroads Designer, Civil 3D, PCSWMM, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-RAS, and ARC-GIS -Develop drainage and Stormwater Management Design for Transportation improvement projects -Assist with roadway project development and other misc. civil engineering tasks for project design and delivery -Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, analysis, and modeling

What You Bring
-Ability to deliver quality projects for a wide range of clients -4+ years related experience required -Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state-specific guidelines -Previous VDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of VDOT standards and procedures preferred -H&H analysis -Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or an equivalent related degree is required -Valid driver’s license -Land disturbance permits and storm water pollution prevention plans (SWPPP) -A mix of technical and project management experience including, but not limited to: -Virginia Beach/Hampton Road experience is a plus -A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) -Professional Engineer license preferred or working towards obtaining a PE license in the near future -Strong writing, oral communication, and teamwork skills
