The Contracts Manager leads multiple projects and teams to deliver safe, high-quality, and commercially successful infrastructure that enhances communities through engineering excellence.

  • Negotiate high-value supplier and sub-contractor contracts to achieve commercial efficiency.
  • Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive resolution of issues.
  • Plan, manage, and deliver all contracts in line with company strategy, vision, and values.
  • Maintain strong communication with clients and their representatives (engineers, surveyors etc.), including attending meetings to report on progress and resolve issues.
  • Oversee tendering activities in collaboration with the tendering and pre-qualification department.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, resource requirements, and construction productivity.
  • Support Coffey’s Engineering Solutions approach by integrating and collaborating across Preconstruction, Engineering, Commercial and HSQE functions to deliver joined-up project outcomes
  • Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary site teams with clarity and consistency, setting clear expectations around performance, safety, quality and accountability.
  • Contribute to innovation and technical excellence by sharing lessons learned and identifying smarter ways of working.
  • Document all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings, and ensure proper notifications and approvals are completed.
  • Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and implementing improvement measures.
  • Promote high standards of quality and delivery across all project phases, from mobilisation to handover.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company policies, and HSQE standards across all projects.
  • Track delegated financial authorities and ensure adherence to company procedures.
  • Identify business opportunities and communicate proactively within the organisation.
  • Conduct regular performance conversations, identify development needs, and contribute to succession planning within the sector.
  • Promote a culture of safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement across all sites.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support business development and future opportunities.
  • Provide recommendations for operational improvements and efficient work methods.
  • Encourage detailed early project planning and integration across departments to support effective delivery.
  • Act as the primary interface between site teams, clients, and internal departments to ensure alignment and collaboration.

Excellence in Engineering & Project Delivery

  • Authorised to work in Ireland i.e. stamp 4 or critical skills visa
  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience supporting competency in the role.
  • Strong commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and risk management expertise.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in construction contracts and project management.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) and membership in a relevant professional institution.
  • Full clean Irish/EU/UK driver licence
  • Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary site teams across multiple projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
