Tasks

We currently have an opportunity for a Commercial Support Officer to support the delivery of advanced Tactical Data Link capabilities within the Joint Force by leading commercial and procurement activities for a high-impact Defence project based in Canberra. Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. -Coordinate contract meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagement. -Manage complex ASDEFCON contracts and lead negotiations with prime contractors. -Provide expert commercial advice and ensure compliance with Defence policy. -Drive procurement strategies and develop key documentation for major acquisitions. -Mentor APS commercial staff and contribute to team capability development.

What You Bring

More than anything, you’ll bring a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for our clients. -Proven experience in Defence procurement and contract management. -Formal qualifications in contracting/procurement (Cert IV or higher). -Currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. -Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills. -In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may be an inherent requirement. -Strong understanding of ASDEFCON templates and Commonwealth procurement rules. -Desirable: Experience in Defence projects and knowledge of TDL technologies.
