Tasks

-Provides technical consultations for interdisciplinary analytical studies and analyses. -Maintains affiliation with professional societies to keep abreast of current technologies. -Oversee the design and development of highway systems, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, regulations, and best practices. -Helps determine budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule. May assist Section Supervisors with other administrative and technical duties. -Develops standard design procedures; prepares design briefs and may conduct on-site training of personnel. -Recommends and prepares technical papers. -Plan, direct, and supervise the work of a major engineering task or project requiring large scale expenditure of manpower and financial investment. -Act as the Discipline Project Supervising Engineer, leading and managing medium to large highway design projects. -Perform complex engineering road and highway tasks and particularly important engineering work efficiently and accurately; -Ensures compliance of design with all applicable standards and regulations, providing the seal and signature of the professional engineer when required by statute or contract.

What You Bring

-Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 10 years of progressive experience in highway design, with a proven track record of successfully managing medium to large transportation related projects. -Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. -Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. -Excellent technical and analytical abilities. -MME-UPDA Grade A. -Proficiency in utilizing Civil 3D / AutoCAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required. -Strong leadership and project management skills. -Proficiency in highway design software and tools. -Excellent communication/interpersonal skills notably with various levels of the organization and externally. -Chartered Engineer
